After days of rain, I have been looking forward to seeing the sunset. I often note to myself that I should savour the sunset, watching as the sun recedes over the hills and changes the colour of the sky. Today, I am looking out another window through which I can see another part of the sky. Through the window, I can see candy floss clouds.
I know that it may rain tomorrow but, for now, there is a wonderful sunset to enjoy. I seldom check the weather forecasting for evenings, so every sunset – with clear skies, cloudy skies, fogs and clarity – is a surprise.
As I write about the sunsets, I realise that no detail is the same. On some days, the sky is clear and the sun is beaming. On others, like this evening, the sun peeks between clouds – light and dark – as it sets. I especially like the days when the sun changes the colour of the sky. A red sky at night is a shepard’s delight, I was told when I was young. Those words always come to mind when I see a red sky in the evening.
